    Organization that supervises and promotes environmental and natural resources policy observance, through inspection, verification and supervision, as well as assesment and application of regulatory sanctions. Its focus is to contribute to the lasting utilization of the renewable natural resources,and to preserve and improve the environment to enhance the quality life.

    A free service provided by the California Integrated Waste Management Board designed to help businesses find markets for materials they have traditionally discarded. Businesses can list materials for exchange or find wanted materials. As part of the CIWMB's Border WasteWi$e activities, they recently launched:
    CalMex - http://www.ciwmb.ca.gov/calmax/calmex/ - initiative that is part of a larger program involving several groups, including the USEPA and the Cities of San Diego and Tijuana, called the Border Waste-Wise Programa. This bilingual expansion of CalMAX has been created to encourage exchanges of potentially useful discards within the San Diego/Tijuana border area. Links are provided to other exchanges and waste commodities trading systems like the one operated by the Chicago Board of Trade.

    A national voluntary partnership with businesses to reduce municipal solid waste. Businesses receive information on how to reduce waste and have an opportunity to enroll in this voluntary program. Border Waste Wi$e is designed to extend the success of the National Waste Wi$e program to the U.S./Mexico border area.
